Antenna offers users app development in the cloud

The new SaaS offering named AMPchroma will enable business to develop mobile and web apps without hardware investments

Antenna Software today unveiled AMPchroma to help businesses bring their own applications to employees and consumers alike.

The Software as a Service (SaaS) offering enables firms to develop, create and deploy apps from a single interface to use in-house or to offer their services to customers.

Users can make a range of apps, from traditional native apps, through to web-based or mobile apps. AMPchroma even offers the capability to create an entire corporate app store in the cloud.

Once created, AMPchroma also includes management capabilities so IT departments can manage all of their applications from one place.

“Most businesses need to move fast and effectively if they’re going to compete in today’s tough economic climate but, until now, that need has simply not been met in the mobile space,” said Jim Hemmer, chief executive (CEO) of Antenna.

“AMPchroma allows technical and non-technical users alike to deploy any kind of mobile project in a matter of minutes and, because the whole suite is hosted in the cloud, it can be done in an extremely collaborative, flexible and cost-effective manner, increasing productivity, visibility, and engagement in the process.”

The launch was accompanied with research commissioned by Antenna and conducted by Vanson Bourne, showing the future plans for mobile app development were on the rise.

The survey, which questioned 1,000 CIOs and business unit leaders in the UK and US, revealed one third of companies were looking to double their spend on mobile app projects in the next 18 months, spending an average of £590,000 in that time.

Of the firms, 42 per cent were already working on apps to use internally, whereas 43 per cent were developing apps for their customers to use.

“Mobile devices are now so ubiquitous that a business without a mobile strategy is a business without a strategy,” concluded Hemmer.
